Another artist of the Hoosier Salon, George C. Baum (1884-1974) left his business career and home in Sweester, IN, in 1958 to move to Brown County, Nashville, Indiana, to paint full time. This fall scene painting, 26 1/2 X 22 3/4 framed, on 16 X 20 board, represents some of his fine work. Baum studied under the noted Hoosier Salon artists C. Curry Bohm and Homer Davisson and painted part time for many years near Akron. He exhibited in the Northern Indiana Artists Salon and the Indiana A. C. He is the father of artist Elizabeth L. Baum. This painting was initially purchased from his estate sale in Warsaw, IN.
